If you have a detailed specification, we can provide you with an estimate of our engineering fees or a fixed price bid for the product development. We can provide circuit schematics, bills of materials, computer simulations, electrical stress analyses. thermal analyses, custom magnetic circuit element designs, circuit prototypes on printed circuit boards, and computer aided design (CAD) files for printed circuit board fabrication and assembly. For large quantity production projects, we may provide a quote for product assemblies.

Troubleshooting

We provide troubleshooting services for power electronic circuits in development or production. If you are experiencing product failures, we can identify root causes of failures and recommend the changes needed to eliminate them. We have done troubleshooting for EMC, circuit design, and performance issues.

Optimal Topology Selection

The subject of optimal topology selection has been studied in detail by Ernie, perhaps more than anyone else in the industry, culminating in his development of an analytical tool for optimal topology selection. His three part article series on numerical topology selection published in Power Electronics Technology Magazine in Spring of 2006 describes a mathematical model for performing an “apples-to-apples” comparison of competing power supply topologies based on the operating conditions and operating equations of the topologies.  The model yielded a set of numbers that indicated which topology was superior and by how much.

Education (Coaching)

We offer short term consulting and/or coaching services for products in development on a wide variety of topics in power electronics circuit design and EMC. Ernie has been a speaker at some of the industry’s largest conferences on a variety of topics that relate to power electronics. We offer quarter day, half day and full day seminars at your facility. Seminars are listed in Our Products section and include EMC for power supplies, high efficiency circuit design, soft switching circuits, gate drive circuits, overcoming  the obstacles to higher power density, and circuit parasitics in power supplies.

Design Reviews
